Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the company that owns Truth Social, filed a new Registration Statement related to the stockholder vote for the proposed merger between fusion power company TAE Technologies, Inc. and TMTG.
The Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust owns 41% of the outstanding shares of Trump Media & Technology Group, making President Trump the largest owner of TMTG.
Tucked in the “TMTG Related Party Transactions” section of the filing is an interesting bit of news about TMTG earning revenue from a foundation affiliated with the National Park Service.
The National Park Foundation’s website describes how Congress established the NPF as the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service in 1967. In 2025 the National Park Foundation created an entity – Freedom 250 LLC – to help plan and execute events to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. Per the FAQ on the foundation’s site, “NPF distributes federal funds to Freedom 250 LLC only for NPS-approved events and only from budgets reviewed and approved by NPS.”
The Trump Media filing notes that TMTG earned revenue of $175.0 related to the advertisement of Freedom 250 events (the filing notes in various places that dollars are in thousands) and had $175.0 of outstanding receivables – making a total of $350,000 to be paid by Freedom 250, LLC to Trump Media & Technology Group.
Freedom 250 Revenue – TMTG performed advertising services to Freedom 250 LLC, an entity created by, and administered by the National Park Foundation, the official charity of the National Park Service. Meredith O’Rourke, a member of TMTG’s Board of Directors, also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Parks Foundation. For the three and nine months ended September 30, 2026, TMTG earned revenue of $175.0 related to the advertisement of Freedom 250 events. As of September 30, 2026, TMTG had $175.0 of outstanding receivables from Freedom 250 LLC.
The section says that Meredith O’Rourke is board director of TMTG and is also a board director of the National Park Foundation. Meredith O’Rourke’s bio on the Foundation website says she most recently served as Senior Advisor and National Finance Director for President Donald J. Trump and led a national fundraising team that raised $2 billion during the 2024 election.
Meredith O’Rourke works at Forward Strategies and is separately mentioned in a letter sent by the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, from Ranking Members Jared Huffman and Maxine Deter, to the president of Boeing, regarding their sponsorhip of Freedom 250, LLC. The letter notes:
On July 2, 2026, we released an interim report titled From Vanity to Insanity: How the White House Cheated the American People out of Their 250th Birthday. The report found that the White House hijacked the nation’s semiquincentennial celebration, converting a once-in-a generation national commemoration into an apparatus for raising and spending money in service of the President’s political ideology and vanity projects
(In a brief side note, my name and a story on Brad Parscale is mentioned on the last page of the report in footnote 266.)
Earlier this year Medias News had reported that Freedom 250, the organization planning celebrations for America’s 250th anniversary, was running sponsored ads on Truth Social – and that these ads raised transparency questions.
The latest Registration Statement filing for TMTG provides a bit more transparency – Trump Media, majority owned by the U.S. president, will earn $350,000 from a company that is part of a foundation created to support the National Park Service, which is ultimately guided by the Trump administration.
